Happy Birthday, Off the Grid!
“Where do you see yourself in 5 years?” For almost everyone in the workforce this stands out as the most clichéd question you can hear during a job interview. However, in 5 years a lot can change, develop, and become more than what was originally intended. On top of our landmarking victories and successful advocacy for the last five years, today GVSHP celebrates another milestone — the birth of our blog, Off the Grid.
Five years ago today we launched Off the Grid as “a great way for GVSHP to share news, commentary, trivia and historic information about the Village, East Village, and NoHo, and to hear from you.” Since its launch, we have published a new blog post each work day, written by each GVSHP staff member. Now totaling over 1,300 posts, we have no plans to slow down! We have covered everything from oral histories to neighborhood tidbits, businesses of the month and pertinent issues that affect Village residents.
We also would like to extend thanks to all of our readers; our blog would not be what it is without your continued interest and engagement. If there are any topics you would love to see us write about, please feel free to let us know in the comments below.
