We’re pleased to share that Village Preservation has been granted ‘consulting party’ status for the Section 106 required historic preservation review of the plan to install massive 5G towers throughout our neighborhoods. CityBridge, which is installing the structures, had previously sought to sidestep the process, but as previously reported, thanks to preservationists and elected officials, they are now submitting their plans for this review and oversight. Consulting party status will allow Village Preservation to examine, review, and provide feedback on the plan and its impact, including as it relates to siting and design. 

We continue to question the appropriateness and necessity of many of these structures, and have concerns about their impact upon historic resources in our neighborhoods. We’ll keep you posted about this process as it progresses.
