Following the hearing, the Commission will officially vote to approve or deny the application, or ask that the applicant return at a later date with revisions.

—- STATUS OF THIS APPLICATION —-

This section provides updates if there are changes to the hearing dates listed above, which includes instances when an application has been laid over (aka postponed). If applicable, LPC public meeting dates for this application will also be tracked here. Please note that public testimony is taken at public hearings, but not at public meetings.

7/17/23, CB2 Recommends:
A. That the Commission staff reconsider the approval of the highly inappropriate tall, spiked fence at the areaway and, notwithstanding the tall fences in other, quite different buildings in the district, instead recommend a fence more in keeping with a historic design of the building and typical to the district; and
B. Denial of the stair gate for its total lack of character or historic reference and its awkward placement with no attempt to integrate it into the building.

9/19/23: Approved with modification that applicants work with staff to lower the height of the proposed fence to a maximum of four feet, and alter design of spikes along the top. Additionally applicants must lower height of proposed stoop gate to align with height of fence.

Please note: All LPC public hearings and public meetings are held at the Municipal Building, 1 Centre Street, 9th floor north, public hearing room (unless otherwise noted).
