PAST HEARING/MEETING DATES and DECISIONS
LPC Public Meeting – March 11th, 2025
APPROVED WITH MODIFICATIONS: That the applicants restudy the materiality of the rooftop addition, to differentiate it from the historic facades in order to help it recede from view, in consultation with staff.
LPC Public Hearing – February 25th, 2025
NO ACTION: Commissioners unanimously approved the rear facade modifications, but opinions were mixed on the rooftop addition, and they were just short of a majority. Those who didn’t approve the proposed design asked for visibility to be minimized via sloping south wall, reducing the overall height, and/or modifying the placement of the addition.
Community Board 2 Meeting – February 13th, 2025
CB Resolution Recommends:
A. Approval of the rooftop addition, provided that it is set back from the south side of the building to distinguish it as a rooftop structure; and
B. Approval of the front railing, the balcony, and the rear facade first floor window which is harmonious with the building and the numerous altered facades in the garden.
Please note: At this time, all LPC public hearings and meetings are hybrid. Members of the public may participate in-person at the Municipal Building (1 Centre Street, 9th Floor Public Hearing Room), or virtually via Zoom and YouTube. View the video after a LPC hearing concludes: Videos of past LPC Hearings and Meetings can be found on their YouTube page. The LPC posts these videos about a week after the presentation. Videos include the applicant’s presentation, public testimony (for hearings only), and deliberation by the LPC commissioners.
