Status as of December 7th, 2010: LATEST NEWS
At the Landmarks Preservation Commission hearing on December 7th, the Commission neither approved nor denied the application. Rather, they asked the applicant to return to the drawing board to see if the existing door could be restored. If not, they asked that it be either replicated in-kind or redesigned in a way that would be more in-keeping with the rest of the entranceway. The applicant will revise the proposal and return to the Commission at a public meeting on a date TBD.

Status as of November 29th, 2010:

At the Community Board 2 Landmarks & Public Aesthetics Committee meeting on November 29th, the applicant presented a proposal that will be shown to the Landmarks Preservation Commission on December 7th. The proposal is to replace the front door.
