This Tuesday, Erik Bottcher resigned from his seat representing the 3rd City Council District (Greenwich Village west of Sixth Avenue, Chelsea, and Hell’s Kitchen — map) when he won election to the 27th State Senate District seat vacated by Brad Hoylman-Sigal (who’d been elected Manhattan Borough President). A special nonpartisan election will be held to fill the seat this spring (date TBD). Four candidates have already declared their candidacy. 

Village Preservation will hold what will likely be the only forum with candidates for the seat focused on preservation and development issues. Find out more about each candidate’s record, positions, and priorities when it comes to what should get built, what should be preserved, what should remain the same, and what should change in our neighborhoods. 

The forum on Zoom is open to all and will allow for questions from the public.
