Join us, parishioners, and fellow East Village and preservation organizations for a rally this Sunday at 2 pm to save the endangered and historic Most Holy Redeemer Church at 173 East 3rd Street (Avenues A and B). One of the East Village’s oldest and most prominent churches, and once one of the city’s tallest and largest, the 1851 structure (altered 1913) we’ve been campaigning to have landmarked has had regular services halted and appears to be moving toward closure and sale. We’ll be calling on the archdiocese to save the church and the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission to move ahead with landmark designation.
