Join us tonight for a critical teach-in and town hall on the Mayor’s massive SoHo/NoHo upzoning plan and our recent report revealing its true impact. The plan would allow hugely out of scale new development (up to 2.4X the size of what’s currently allowed); encourage destruction of historic buildings; allow the proliferation of big box chain stores; make these neighborhoods wealthier, more expensive, and less diverse than they are now; introduce a flood of super luxury housing in huge buildings; create vastly less affordable housing than promised; and likely destroy as much if not more existing affordable housing, pushing out long time lower-income residents and small businesses, especially Asian American.
