Each year, Village Preservation honors invaluable local leaders, institutions, businesses, places, and organizations at its Annual Meeting and Village Awards. This fun and free public event highlights and celebrates those that make our neighborhoods some of the most interesting and exceptional in the city. The night also includes a review of Village Preservation’s activities and accomplishments over the last year.
The 34th Annual Village Awards & 44th Annual Members Meeting took place on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at The Cooper Union’s Great Hall.
More than 260 awards have been given as part of the Village Awards since 1991. This year’s Village Award winners are:

For its longstanding and ongoing efforts to organize a community and empower it to realize a better future for its neighborhood

Penny Arcade
For her lifelong efforts in fostering community downtown through her art and service, and her trailblazing contributions to performance art and public storytelling

Trash & Vaudeville
For its commitment to the East Village and its decades-long devotion to rocking everyone out, from actual rock stars to the rock stars that dwell in the hearts of all of us

Regina Kellerman Award: Washington Square Park Conservancy
For their dedication and commitment to preserving and celebrating Washington Square Park, and guaranteeing that it continues to thrive as a place of gathering, celebration, protest, and enjoyment
