Join us for the ceremonial unveiling of a plaque honoring groundbreaking sculptor, designer, and landscape architect Isamu Noguchi in front of his former studio at 52 West 10th Street. We will hear about his work, collaborations, activism, and life in the Village. Read more about Isamu Noguchi here.

This is our 28th plaque unveiling. Our plaque program has honored and marked the homes of local figures from Jane Jacobs to James Baldwin; Allen Ginsberg to Charles Mingus; Frank O’Hara to Frank Stella; and Martha Graham to Lorraine Hansberry, as well as historically significant sites such as the former NAACP headquarters, Julius’ Bar, and the Fillmore East.

You can learn more about our plaque program and explore our other plaques here.

Amy Hau is Director of The Isamu Noguchi Foundation and Garden Museum. She began her career working directly for Isamu Noguchi and his foundation. Over the nearly three decades following the artist’s passing, she held several key roles as the studio evolved into the nonprofit museum it is today, including that of overseeing a multi-phase capital renovation that strengthened the museum’s global presence.
