This ca. 1834 rowhouse housed the Sullivan Street Playhouse, where ‘The Fantasticks,’ the longest running play in history, was performed. Over Village Preservation’s objections, the building was demolished in the early 2000s. In 2013 VP was able to get this area landmarked as part of the South Village Historic District — too late to save this structure.
