Greenwich Village resident Marisa Palmisano watched the Twin Towers burn and collapse from her neighborhood on 9/11. She captured this striking image of the towers burning through the Washington Square Arch, entitled Dignity and Nobility. People were dropping to their knees in prayer and crying in Washington Square Park and lower 5th Avenue, which is when she put her camera aside.
