
Variety Theater, 110 3rd Avenue. Demolished 2005.
Built in 1897, the Variety Theater served as a nickelodeon starting in 1914, and was believed to be New York’s last surviving former nickelodeon house when it was demolished in 2005. It served as a respected Off Broadway theater for many years, and was made notorious its inclusion in the movie ‘Taxi Driver.’
