Leave a Legacy that Preserves the Past and Shapes the Future
Village Preservation has worked since 1980 to honor, protect, and amplify the unique cultural and architectural legacy of Greenwich Village, the East Village, and NoHo. By including Village Preservation in your estate plans, you can help ensure that the stories, lessons, and beauty of our past continue to inspire and educate for generations to come.
What Is Legacy Giving?
Legacy giving — also known as planned giving — is a meaningful way to support the causes you care about beyond your lifetime. It allows you to make a lasting impact without affecting your current financial situation.
By making a bequest or other planned gift to Village Preservation, you join a group of visionary supporters committed to preserving our shared history and advocating for vibrant, inclusive neighborhoods far into the future.
Ways to Give
There are many ways to include Village Preservation in your estate plans:
- Bequests: Name Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation (Village Preservation) as a beneficiary in your will or living trust.
- Retirement Plans: Designate Village Preservation as a beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k), or pension.
- Life Insurance: Make Village Preservation a full or partial beneficiary of a life insurance policy.
We recommend speaking with your attorney or financial advisor to find the option that’s best for you.
Your Gift, Your Legacy
Legacy donors are honored as members of our Heritage Circle, a special group recognized for their long-term commitment to our mission. With your permission, your name will be listed in our annual report and other materials to inspire others to follow your example.
Let Us Know
If you’ve included Village Preservation in your estate plans — or if you’re considering doing so — we’d love to hear from you. We’re happy to answer any questions, provide sample language for your will, or simply thank you for your foresight and generosity.
