And the Winner Is … Village Awards Edition
Last week, Off the Grid celebrated the upcoming Obie and Tony Awards. Today, GVSHP is honored to announce … the 2013 Village Awardees!
Each year, the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation honors our community by presenting the Village Awards, to recognize the people, places, organizations, and more that contribute significantly to the quality of life in Greenwich Village, the East Village, and NoHo.
The winners of the 2013 Awards will be presented at a public ceremony on the evening of June 17. Congratulations to the awardees:
Avignone Chemists
Block Drug Store
New York University Faculty Against the Sexton Plan
Jeremiah Shea
Sir Winston Churchill Square
Regina Kellerman Award: Bowery Alliance of Neighbors
Countless nominations were reviewed by the 2013 Awards committee, a group including GVSHP members, local business owners, and past awardees. We thank all who took the time to submit a nomination, helping us shine a light on those that contribute to our wonderful neighborhoods.
Stay tuned to Off the Grid in the weeks approaching the awards ceremony, as we will spotlight each of 2013 awardees in our posts. In the meantime, check out the GVSHP website to learn more about the awards ceremony on June 17 and to RSVP to attend.
