‘Tis the Season
December is chock full of holidays and no shortage of holiday tree lightings, carol singing events, and much more to help you celebrate the season. The trees are already up and alight in Tompkins Square Park and Abingdon Square Park, but there are plenty more activities across the Village for those looking to ring in the season.
The Washington Square Association has sponsored a tree lighting and carol sing under the arch for the past 90 years. This year’s tree lighting in Washington Square Park will take place on Wednesday, December 10 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. For caroling fans, the Association will also host carol singing on Christmas Eve. More information can be found on the Association website.
The New Shul will present “A Deep Fried Chanukah” on the first night of Chanukah, Tuesday, December 16. The evening will feature a ceremonial lighting of a Menorah, as well as deep fried treats, mural painting, storytelling, and much more. Tickets and more information can be accessed on the New Shul’s website.
