Archigrafika: Your Friendly Neighborhood Graphic Designers
If you get GVSHP’s monthly program brochure in your mailbox, you may have noticed something different the last few months. We’ve got a whole new look! The programs brochure went through a little makeover this summer, and we’ve got Greenwich Village-based design firm Archigrafika to thank for it.
Archigrafika was founded in 2009 by Pratt Institute graduate (and now professor) Michael Gerbino, but the team boasts many decades of experience designing and building compelling graphics for a variety of companies and institutions. They design logos, printed materials, websites, on-site signage, office spaces, and even cultural exhibitions. We love working with Archigrafika because not only do they have the talent to be the primary designers for corporate titans like Willis Towers Watson, but they have the heart and dedication to work with many New York non-profits and cultural institutions. With clients including The New York Foundling, philanthropic coffee shop Coffeed, Brooklyn’s Green-Wood Cemetery, Trinity Church, Pratt Institute, and the Player’s Club, Archigrafika provides graphics and design for some of New York’s premier institutions of arts, history, and culture.
This summer, Archigrafika updated the GVSHP logo, chose a new, sophisticated color for our branding, and reformatted the monthly programs brochure. Since the firm itself is located in Greenwich Village, we didn’t have to explain to them what the GVSHP brand should look and feel like – they already understood. They made it easy, not least of all because the Archigrafika office is fun, approachable, understanding and intelligent.
Archigrafika’s team is almost entirely native New Yorkers, so they speak our language, love the city, and value the same things about Greenwich Village that we do. Their office, in a historic Greenwich Avenue townhouse, is an anchoring presence on the block. The whole team is part of the community and can frequently be found in the coffee shop below the second-story office, the bar down the block, or on the corner at Rosemary’s enjoying a long working lunch. And luckily for us, now that our designers are also our neighbors, we can stop in and join them!
