These four-story Greek Revival row houses were built in 1847-48 by Henry Brevoort. They are the sole survivor of a row of at least eight such houses that once lined this section of Fourth Avenue. They were the homes of famed Book Row sellers, as well as renowned photographer Aaron Siskind, who documented African American life and subjects, in addition to leftist/labor themes.
