Join Us on Wednesday, June 12 at 6 PM for the “Oscars of the Village” and Our Annual Meeting!

This year’s awardees: top row from left, the Bus Stop Cafe, Barbara Kahn, and the Sixth Street Community Center; and bottom row from left, Penny Arcade, Trash and Vaudeville, and the Washington Square Park Conservancy.

From hundreds of nominations from the public, we are proud to announce this year’s Village Award winners:

  • Bus Stop Cafe, 597 Hudson Street
  • Playwright Barbara Kahn
  • Sixth Street Community Center
  • Performer and playwright Penny Arcade
  • Trash and Vaudeville, 96 East 7th Street
  • Washington Square Park Conservancy (Regina Kellerman Award)

The emcee for the awards ceremony will be legendary musician, producer, and author Lenny Kaye.

Congratulations to the 2024 winners and each of our nominees, all of whom make invaluable contributions to our neighborhoods every day (most awardees must be nominated several years before making the final cut of six awardees!). Join us on Wednesday, June 12, 6 PM, to celebrate these incredible organizations, people, and businesses; learn about Village Preservation’s accomplishments over the last year; and vote on our new slate of trustees.

The 34th Annual Village Awards and 44th Annual Meeting of Village Preservation is free and open to the public, and all are welcome and encouraged to attend (RSVPs are required). The program will be followed by a reception with refreshments.

We hope to see you on June 12 at the historic, landmarked Great Hall at The Cooper Union (7 East 7th Street) for this heartwarming community celebration!
