Four stories high, this Anglo-Italianate–style building was designed by Thomas R. Jackson in 1855 and constructed by the Board of Education of the City of New York. The building served as the home of several all-girls schools, including the city’s first girls high school, and has housed the Police Athletic League since 1958.
