Coalition of Preservation Organizations Fight to Keep the Public in the Landmarks Process

In late March, scores of New Yorkers spent hours at the hearing on the Landmarks Preservation Commission’s proposed rules changes, to oppose the plan and urge that the public not be cut out of the landmarks review process as currently proposed. In response, the LPC extended the comment period, originally intended to end that day, until May 9.

With the May 9 deadline approaching, thousands of New Yorkers continue to write to the LPC and the Mayor urging that the plan be withdrawn. Further, GVSHP and a coalition of preservation organizations have written to the LPC urging her to withdraw the application – read the letter here.
