Landmarks De-Calendaring Issue

Village Preservation successfully helped lead an effort to reverse a decision by the Landmarks Preservation Commission to automatically de-calendar or remove from consideration about a hundred buildings which had been under consideration for landmark designation for five years or more, potentially leaving them open to demolition. As a result of our efforts, every one of the buildings was instead heard for consideration for landmark designation, resulting in several finally receiving protections, including 57 Sullivan Street, an early 19th-century house we had long lobbied to have landmarked.
