My Name is New York: Ramblin’ Around Woody Guthrie’s Town with Nora Guthrie

I’m the Hudson and East river’s
One lost lonesome child…
Just remember, New York
Is the name I am called.

Have a close encounter with Woody Guthrie in the company of his daughter, Nora Guthrie, and granddaughter, Anna Canoni. With her book My Name is New York: Ramblin’ Around Woody Guthrie’s Town, Nora traces Woody’s footsteps around Greenwich Village — where he first met Pete Seeger and Bob Dylan, where he wrote “This Land Is Your Land” and countless other songs, where he painted “This Machine Kills Fascists” on his guitar, raised his kids, and made American music history.
Nora Guthrie is the President of Woody Guthrie Publications, Inc. Nora’s projects, including concerts, artist collaborations, books, and more, bring Woody Guthrie’s vast cultural and creative legacy to life.
