Walk About New York’s Greenwich Village Walking Tour

Thursday, September 1st

6:00pm ET start time.
In-Person Outdoor Walking Tour.
Free.

Greenwich Village is New York City’s most storied neighborhood. It has been home to the famous and infamous; and it still is! See the locations and hear the stories that for decades have attracted locals and visitors alike to this fascinating area.

The tour includes The Washington Arch and Washington Square, and Lower Fifth Avenue, with its historic NeoGothic-styled churches, as well as the eclectic Jefferson Market Library and the neighborhood’s charming dead-end streets.

Meet Up Location: Washington Square Arch. Look for your tour guide, Phil, in the red cap.

Accessibility: The walk is outdoors and sidewalk accessible. We will be actively walking for about 90 minutes across NYC streets and sidewalks. There will be little to no seating on this tour.

Phil Desire (he/him) will guide this tour. Here’s a message from your guide!
“Hi, I’m Phil, licensed to be a tourist guide by the City of New York and a member of the Guides Association of New York City (GANYC). I began Walk About New York to share my passion for the Big Apple with tourists and locals alike. You do not need to be an out-of-towner to enjoy the sights and stories that I will share with you. My walking tours offer something for everyone! I wanted to live in Greenwich Village since a very young age. For 42.5 years I have lived, loved, laughed, and learned in this vibrant and colorful neighborhood! I like the Village because of its small-town atmosphere in a big city. With its irregular street plan, named streets, easy charm and human scale I find The Village comforting. After taking the Greenwich Village Walking Tour you will fall in love with it too! Please allow me to share with you New York City, the place that I call home. During all my tours, I will connect the sights with fun facts and fascinating tales, helping to create for you a rich experience of New York. I’m a good photographer, too; I can help you take memorable photographs of your visit to the Big Apple that you will want to share with others.”
