APPLICATION:


A building built in 1839 and remodeled after the turn of the century. Application is to reconstruct the primary facade.

The applicant is proposing to reconstruct the facade of the building (which has already been demolished). The reconstructed facade would look the same as it did prior to demolition (as seen in the Google Street View image above), except that the applicant is proposing to expose the brick rather than to stucco the facade.

Status as of September 13th, 2011: LATEST NEWS
At the Landmarks Preservation Commission’s public meeting on September 13th, the applicant return to the Commission with a request to amend the previously approved application. The application wished to rebuild the primary facade without stucco. The Commission voted to approve this amendment to the application.

Status as of September 12th, 2011:
The applicant is returning to the Landmarks Preservation Commission at a public meeting on September 13th with an application to “amend a previous approval to reconstruct the primary facade.” In other words, they are looking to amend the approval that was granted on July 26th, 2011, to reconstruct the facade and reclad it with stucco.

Status as of July 26th, 2011:
The applicant presented the application to the Landmarks Preservation Commission at their public hearing on Tuesday, July 26th. The Commission voted to approve the application on the condition that the facade be re-coated in stucco (the applicant proposed an exposed brick facade).

Status as of July 18th, 2011:
This applicant presented the proposal to the Community Board 2 Landmarks & Public Aesthetics Committee at their public hearing on Monday, July 18th. See above for photos. This application is scheduled to be heard at the Landmarks Preservation Commission on Tuesday, July 26th.

Status as of July 13th, 2011:
This application is scheduled to be shown publicly for the first time at the Community Board 2 Landmarks & Public Aesthetics Committee public hearing on Monday, July 18th, 2011, at 6:30 pm in the NYU Silver Building, 32 Waverly Pl.
