From the LPC agenda: An altered factory building built circa 1920, and a one-story garage building, designed by Sapolsky & Slobodien and built in 1959.  Application is to demolish the factory building and garage and construct a seven story building.

LATEST NEWS As of 5/15/12: The Commission approved this application at the May 15th public meeting. See the first group of photos above for the approved design. This application is now closed.

As of 5/11/12: This application is scheduled for a public meeting at the LPC, 1 Centre Street, 9th Floor, on May 15th. It is scheduled to be presented at approximately 11:30am, but we recommend arriving at least 30 minutes prior. Please note that there is no public testimony at this meeting.

As of 4/10/12: This application was heard at the LPC on April 10th. The Commission took a vote of no action, and requested that the applicant work with staff on the re-design of the building. Suggestions included a more prominent design at the corner and to re-think the setback of the penthouse (either set it back further or be flush with the lower floors). The new design will be presented at a public meeting, date TBD.

As of 4/3/12: This application was heard at CB2 on April 2nd. It will next be heard at the Landmarks Preservation Commission on April 10th. Public testimony welcome.

As of 3/23/12: This application is scheduled to be heard at Community Board 2 on April 2nd. Public testimony welcome.

3) Attend and speak at the Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) public hearing
When: Tuesday, April 10, 2012**
Where: 1 Centre Street, 9th Floor, public hearing room

**Please check the Commission’s agenda the Friday afternoon before the public hearing to see the approximate time that this application is scheduled to be heard.** At this hearing, the Commission will officially vote to approve or deny the application, or ask that the applicant return at a later date with revisions. Public attendance and testimony are welcome (note: this will most likely be the last opportunity for public comment on this application).
