Details on SoHo/NoHo Hearings, New Data Shows Falsehoods and Lies Behind Rezoning
Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer will hold her virtual public hearing on the Mayor’s SoHo/NoHo Upzoning plan starting at 6 pm on Monday, August 23 — register here. Testimony is limited to 2 minutes but longer comments can be submitted to info@manhattanbp.nyc.gov.
The hearing will begin with a panel of presenters consisting almost exclusively of supporters of the plan, including representatives of property owners and major developers in the area, as well as city bureaucrats who have defamed opponents of the plan and nonprofit leaders with conflicts of interest who have sought to smear plan opponents as racists. We understand the “panel” will last about an hour, after which public testimony will begin, and last until all speakers have gone.
The City Planning Commission, controlled by the Mayor, will hold its public hearing on the Thursday before Labor Day, September 2, at 10 am. Virtual and in-person testimony at 120 Broadway in the basement hearing room will be allowed. Details here.
