Nominations Are Now Open for the 2024 Village Awards!

Nominations open today for the 2024 Annual Village Awards. Called “the Oscars of the Village,” these awards showcase the small businesses, local institutions, and outstanding individuals and organizations, and places that have made a significant contribution to the special quality of life in Greenwich Village, the East Village, and NoHo.

The awards will be presented at a public ceremony as part of Village Preservation’s annual meeting in early June — stay tuned for date and location!
Because of the large number of nominations we receive, it often takes several years of nominations to be selected as an awardee. So don’t lose heart if your favorite isn’t chosen this year, and feel free to nominate anyone not chosen in prior years — not making the final cut one year doesn’t mean it won’t the next!
Note: Past awardees, employees or trustees of Village Preservation, and entities located outside of Greenwich Village, the East Village, and NoHo are not eligible.

Past awardees represent the diversity and uniqueness of our neighborhoods; some highlights include:
- Last year’s honorees included the Manhattan Monster Bar, the Red Door Place, and Yara Arts Group.
- Among the awardees are many favorite local stores, such as Casa Magazines (in 2021), Ray’s Candy Shop (2020), and B&H Dairy (2017).
- The High Line (2010), the NYC AIDS Memorial (2017), and the Christopher Park Alliance (2019) are three past awardees that bring life and community to our public spaces.
- More than 250 awards have been given as part of the Village Awards since 1991. See the full list here, and learn more about the Village Awards here.
